It all started when...
I was interviewing a bright young intern candidate last year. She was clearly accomplished and very determined but made some key mistakes which could have been avoided with better planning and preparation on her part. Later that day I had a thought, if the cleverest people aren't learning these valuable careers lessons at university, where will they ever learn them?
So I started writing my book to help young women better understand the perspective of a hiring manager and the job market in general. The book turned into a series of successful workshops, and those workshops turned into this career advancement community, Hustle Crew. Now that the book is done (published October 2017) I'm excited to share it with the world. My hope is that more young women will improve their hustle with this book: land better jobs and maximise their earning and learning potential.
The book is packed with practical advice on CV writing, preparing for interviews and negotiating salaries combined with stories from my career journey. I've been debating between two different tag lines:
"The multicultural woman's guide to first jobs and startups"
"The millennial woman's guide to first jobs and startups"
Which do you prefer? I'd even love suggestions for better ones! Keep checking back for a link to buy the book and details of my book tour.
