What is the plot of “The First Woke War”?
It is a play about an ambitious Black woman leader hired to save an AI startup’s corporate culture and public image in the run up to an IPO on London’s Stock Exchange.
Temi has been searching for her next role since the failure of her startup. She has just landed her dream job: Chief Culture Officer at the hottest AI startup Robodata.
As the only woman on the senior leadership team it’s up to her to lead a major cultural transformation journey, reporting into the Founder & CEO Arthur, a visionary set to be one of the good guys in the world of Big Tech.
Robodata’s Chief Technology Officer (CTO) Martin believes in the value of a meritocracy. He thinks that wokeness is a threat to productivity in an increasingly distracted world.
Temi must challenge the status quo and daily habits of her team to succeed. She must put her job first above everything else. Will it work? Will it be worth it?

This is a compelling story for anyone whose ever been misunderstood at work, and will capture the curiosity of anyone interested in the tech industry and startups.
